September 2008
Dear Pastor and Friends,
Sue and I would like to thank you for all the prayers given on our behalf while in Africa. God answered many of our personal requests, especially for Sue’s health. God granted her special strength and endurance to help over come the health problem that occurred just a few weeks prior to our departure. We would also like to thank each and every one of you that assisted with the cost of Sue’s airplane ticket.
This year’s conference was one of the hardest and most challenging yet, but it was probably one of the best that we have ever had. Attendance was down and the numbers of professions of faith were down but the unity and the attitude of the people was awesome. Including VBS we had 150 plus professions of faith, and 90 plus baptisms. The preaching was split equally between the national pastors and the Americans. What an awesome job the nationals did!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are already looking to forward to next year’s conference.
At the end of August there was a General Conference held in the Congo which was attended by 328 people along with a Ladies conference attended by 100. The General conference had 40 people come for repentance and 10 professions of faith, and the Ladies had 14 professions of faith. These conferences were lead by our trained nationals. Praise God!
I know that on many occasions we put out pleas for assistance and we at times feel like beggars but when there is a need or needs we have no other way to turn but to God’s people. So here it goes; we presently have a container of Bibles, New Testaments, Sunday school materials, farm implements, etc. sitting in Gulfport, MS, which are desperately neede in Zambia. All this material has been donated and must be shipped so it can arrive before the rainy season. We are presently lacking $9000. Please prayerfully consider assisting us with this very important need. If you can help please send checks to I AM ministries marked container.
Please continue praying for our son Bryan in Iraq and Sue’s health’
Since returning from Africa we have been blessed by the salvation of our daughter-in-law Candy and the salvation of Sue’s sister Polly. Praise the Lord!!!!!
