June 2008

Dear,

I am glad to write to you this June update.

My family and I are doing okay. Always thanking and praying for you to God for the help you render to us and enable us minister here in Lusaka the capital of Zambia.

On the 1st June Sunday started with Sunday school service with Rev. Kasanshi teaching on sin. I preached during the main service from 2 Peter 1v1-14 whose theme message was power, promise and practice. God moved the hearts of people, 8 repented and dedicated their lives to God.

On the 8th June, I preached on being filled with the spirit. Ephesians 5v18-19. We received all of the spirit. When we get saved then all we want is Him (H.S) to have more of us. Surrendering ourselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Like a drunkard is controlled by alcohol. So should our Christian walk be controlled by the Holy Spirit of God.

I gave few reasons why God wants us to be controlled by the Spirit.

1. That we might have joy Romans 14v17 joy is part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit
Galatians 5v22.

2. That we might have peace with God through Jesus Christ Romans 5v1.

3. For service Acts 6v3, 11v22-24

4. For power to be witness Acts 1v8

5. For the hour of persecution Acts 7v54-60.

6. That we might walk by the Spirit Romans 8v14.

7. That we may understand Spiritual things and that which is freely given to us 1 Corinthians 2v9-15.

Then I asked a Question how can you be filled? (1) Desire Him to fill you. (2) Ask Him to fill you. (3) Believe that he does fill you John 4v14, 7v37-38. There was no repentance, nor dedications.

On the 12th June, I went to the Intercontinental as my Thursday’s routine programme is and preached the same message 5 people gave their lives to God and the total attendance was (10) ten. On the following day which was 13th June went out for Evangelism, 3 people got saved while 30 John and Romans books were given out with 100 tracts entitled where are you going to spend eternity? 14th Saturday was Evangelisms 3 got saved, Mr. Nkole Marvin, Joshua, and Mr. German Mauwe, please pray for these souls. Our man dedicated his life back to God. He lives in Chingola as a faithful, trusted Christian, but always comes to Lusaka to drink beer, to committee adultery and many things which is called sin. He thought by coming to Lusaka he is hiding from both God and the people he is leading. I told him who should be feared most. His eyes are always watching us. 2 Chronicles 16v9, Zechariah 4v10. He wept so much and asked for prayer from saints that God would change him for better and to the glory of God. So please pray for this man, his name is Phiri Norris. 200 souls were reached out with the Gospel tracts and John and Romans books.

On the 26th June, went to the prayer meeting at the hotel. Praise God he has answered our prayers we have a bigger room which can hold more than 30. I taught on Ephesians 6v16. THE SHIELD OF FAITH. What is faith? Where do we get faith from? What is the agent of faith? Then I asked why we need faith? Of many reasons but I have a few:

1. You can’t be saved without faith Ephesians 2v8-9, John 3v36.

2. You can’t live victoriously over the world 1 John 5v4.

3. You can’t please God without faith Hebrews 11v6

4. You can’t pray without faith James 1v6

5. You can’t have joy without faith 1 Peter 1v8

6. You can’t have peace with God without faith Romans 5v1

7. You are justified by faith and not of works Galatians 2v16

8. You are to live by faith Galatians 2v20, 2 Corinthians 5v7.

9. You are made righteous by faith Romans 9v30, 10v1-4

10. Christ dwells in our hearts by faith Ephesians 3v17.

11. The Holy Spirit is received by faith Galatians 3v2.

12. Whatever is not of faith is sin Romans 14v23.

It was a wonderful time that we had. 20 people attended. There were no decisions made. So this is how the month has been.

Once again thank you for your prayers.

Yours,

Douglas Sakuwaha
