June Update From the Andersons
June 21, 2011
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
Some of you have heard already but for those who have not, Sue fell again on the 31st of May separating the ball of her hip from the joint and splitting the ball in half. This happened shortly after her visit to the spine Doctor who had given her the okay to travel to Africa in July. On June 1st they operated on her hip and replaced the ball. She is doing very well in the healing process and was so thankful this past Monday to be able to have the bandages removed and get a shower for the first time in 2 weeks. She has to use a walker for another few weeks and then hopefully graduate to a cane. Obviously she will not be traveling with me to Africa at the end of July. Please pray for that her healing process continues to go well and that payment for the medical expenses will be able to be worked out since we do not have medical insurance do to the fact that the insurance companies will not grant us insurance because of pre-existing.
Last week I received from Botswana, Africa an invite to come and teach a group of believers in the Kgalagadi District, which is in the northwest. I would like to plan a trip there next year to preach and teach. This group of believers has been brought to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by a young man by the name of Isaac Nkele that I led to the Lord back in the late 90's. Isaac is a nurse there and has on his own with out asking for any assistance been going out evangelizing and leading people to the Lord there for the past 3 years. Isaac says these people are very thirsty for the Word of God. We would like to thank Dr. Rene Freret and BEAMS for supplying Isaac with Bibles for the new converts on monthly basis. Please pray with me about this trip, and should any of you be interested in going with me please contact me. My vision for this trip is to have a 3day VBS, 3day Bible Conference, and a full week of Bible teaching. I would also ask you to pray to God about sending a missionary family there to work with Bro. Isaac.
In May Brian Kaoma relocated with his family from Zambia, Africa to Malawi, Africa as missionaries with the vision to establish Bible Believing churches to be pastored by nationals. Brain attended the Northstar Bible Institute at the Kafulafuta Baptist Mission and received a number of years practical experience in various ministries there including teaching in the Institute. As a result of my previous trips to Malawi I was able to put Brian in contact with a number of people there including Pastor Mikondo, who was looking for someone to train him and his church. Many of the men that are called pastors in Africa, especially in the bush have no formal training. Brian has now been working with Pastor Mikondo for the past few weeks and has recently informed me that a women's and a men's discipleship class has been started with about 10 to 15 people in each class. The church has about 40 people attending and 2 weeks ago 3 people came forward and made professions of faith. Praise the Lord!! Please pray for Brian and his family as the Lord continues using them greatly in fulfilling the great commission in Malawi.
On July 20th I will be leaving for Africa, and ask that you pray for my trip and my wife while I am gone. I will be arriving in South Africa on the 21st and meeting up with my eldest son Scott and his family for a 10 day mission's trip to Swaziland. Then on the 1st of August I will proceed to Zambia for the annual VBS and Bible Conference at Kafulafuta Baptist Mission where I will be meeting the Bonners, Dr. Johnny Pope and his wife, Dr. Brown, a young lady from FBBC in the Buffalo area and a young man from our church here in Florida.
Thank you so much for your continued prayer and financial support of the ministry God has given to us. I will be contacting you when I return from Africa to see about coming and up-dating you and the church.
This year has been a very trying and interesting year and I keep being reminded of I Thessalonians 5:18 "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
For His honor and glory!
Dennis and Sue Anderson
