August 2011 Update From the Bonners

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Greetings in the wonderful name of the Lord. As I am writing this letter from Zambia, I am overwhelmed at the Grace of our Wonderful Lord for allowing us once again to step foot on this Continent. God is indeed good, all the time.
We just left Ethiopia where we ministered or should I say the Church their ministered to us. We were able to spend some time with our dear friend and Saint of God, Gomeju Tafesse. Gomeju helped us start the Deaf Ministry years ago in Zambia. She also brought her son, Yohannes to Zambia and we trained him, and you know the rest of the story, Yohannes has a tremendous work for the Lord in Zambia and Gomeju is back teaching in the deaf school in Addis Ababa. We were at Gomeju's for 7 days and she kept us busy everyday while there. We met some Deaf Pastors along with several hearing Pastors as well who have been so faithful to the Lord and have a Vision to reach the Muslim countries with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.It was an honor to meet them and pray with them and to preach in their churches. They had been imprisoned for their Faith many times in the past and are still preaching the glorious truth of the Word of God. I was so humbled to be in their presence having really suffered for the Faith. I am afraid we know nothing about that subject of suffering for Jesus sake. What a glorious time. We are hoping to partner with the Ethiopian Church planters there and help train their Pastors in such efforts. What a positive trip.
We arrived in Lusaka, Zambia and Yohannes picked us up and we stayed with him 3 days in Lusaka. We saw his Deaf Orphanage and Church, and was a part of his discipleship of a family at his house. He is doing such a great work for the Lord and what a Humble person he is. No wonder God is using this young man and his family. If Africa is to reached with the Gospel it must be reached by the African. Many Countries are closing their doors to USA Missionaries especially when it comes to Church planting efforts. But they are allowing other Africans from other Countries within Africa to come. Lets wake up America and realize that God is moving in Africa and lets get behind these wonderful Humble servants of the Most High and help them get the Gospel to the next People group. Lets assist in Bibles, Discipleship material, and training. We are all in this together and time is short. Please pray about this.
We are now at the Mission at Kafulafuta where it all started. As I walk around and see the buildings and the people, I am once again reminded of just how great our God is. He did a work here and it is continuing, not because of us but because of His Word, because His Word will not return void. They are busy building the Tabernacle and getting ready for the Conference next week. Dr. Johnny Pope and his wife Barbara are coming along with Dr. Jim Brown to be our guest speakers. So Please pray. The next letter will have all the results in it. We are looking for a glorious time with the Lord meeting with us here in the "bush" of Zambia.
